WCS2202 Hall Effect Current Sensor provides an economical and precise solution for both AC and DC current sensing in industrial, commercial, and communications systems. The unique package design allows for easy customer implementation. Typical applications include motor control, load detection and management, over-current fault detection, and intelligent power management systems.
The sensor features a built-in AC to DC rectifier circuit, eliminating the need for additional signal conditioning. It consists of a precise, low-temperature drift linear hall sensor IC with temperature compensation and a current path with 8.3 m? internal conductor resistance, effectively reducing power loss and operating temperature while increasing reliability. The applied current generates a magnetic field sensed by the Hall IC, producing a proportional rectified DC voltage. The sensor's terminals are electrically 1,000V isolated from the conductive path, allowing for use in applications requiring electrical isolation without additional costly techniques.
