The OV9281 camera module is designed for Raspberry Pi boards, directly connectable to the CSI-2 camera interface without extra hardware. An adapter board can link FOUR cameras to a single Raspberry Pi, supporting the High-Quality Camera. Its global shutter and low-light sensitivity make it ideal for gesture detection, head and eye tracking, and depth and motion detection applications. Device manufacturers can implement monochrome or NIR camera devices, reducing memory usage with the Y8 stream format. The Camera Module 2, replacing the original in April 2016, features a Sony IMX219 8-megapixel sensor for high-definition video and still photography.
