The infrared transmitter in this module consists of an infrared LED array and a PN junction made of GaAs. When a current is injected into the PN junction, it emits infrared light with a wavelength range of 830nm-950nm. The infrared receiver, also with a PN junction, translates the infrared light signal into an electrical signal, allowing for obstacle detection.
