A float sensor, also known as a float switch, is designed to detect the level of liquid, typically water, in a tank. The float sensor consists of a magnet on the float (the moving part) and a reed switch on the stem (fixed part). When the magnet approaches the reed switch, the switch is activated, closing the circuit.
