The TP5100 is a double switch buck 8.4V, single cell 4.2V lithium battery charge management chip. It features an ultra-compact QFN16 package and a simple external circuit, making it ideal for portable equipment and large current charging management applications. The chip includes various protection features such as input overcurrent, under-voltage protection, over-temperature protection, short circuit protection, battery temperature monitoring, and reverse battery protection.
With a wide input voltage range of 5V-15V, the TP5100 supports dual battery trickle charge into pre-charge, constant current, and constant voltage three-phases. The pre-charge current and trickle charge current can be adjusted through an external resistor, with a maximum charge current of up to 2A. The chip's 400kHz switching mode allows for the use of a smaller outer Suo device while maintaining a smaller amount of heat during large current charging.
The TP5100 also includes a built-in power PMOSFET, anti-intrusion circuit, and no anti-intrusion protection and external Schottky diode are required.
