IR Reflective Sensor Module TCRT5000

An efficient sensor for detecting colour and distance with a measuring range of 1mm to 8mm.

The IR Reflective Sensor Module, which features the TCRT5000 Infrared Reflective Sensor, is a highly functional unit commonly used in object sorting robots and line-following robots. This sensor module is capable of determining whether a surface is white or black. The module includes an IR transmitter and an IR receiver, with the transmitter emitting a continuous IR signal that reflects off surfaces and is detected by the receiver.

A centralized point about 2.5mm away, and an on-board potentiometer helps adjust the sensitivity. The infrared diode emits constant infrared light upon powering the module. If the reflected infrared light is weak or absent, the receiver diode remains off and the output pin (DO) stays LOW.
