The MOC3052 consists of a GaAs infrared emitting diode optically coupled to a non-zero-crossing silicon bilateral AC switch (triac). These devices provide random phase control of high current triacs or thyristors, ensuring stable switching performance of inductive loads. Ideal for various applications including solenoid/valve controls, lamp ballasts, static AC power switches, and more. Interface microprocessors to 115 VAC and 240 VAC peripherals with ease. The MOC3052 is also suitable for solid state relays, incandescent lamp dimmers, temperature controls, and motor controls.
