The MCP42010 digital potentiometers are versatile devices with a linear wiper position controlled by an SPI interface. They offer a software shutdown feature for power saving and include a hardware shutdown pin for added convenience. With multiple devices daisy-chaining capability, these potentiometers are suitable for various applications.
During shutdown mode, the wiper register can be modified, and the potentiometer smoothly transitions from shutdown to the new value. The wiper resets to the mid-scale position upon power-up or when a hardware reset is initiated.
