The LM358 series consists of two independent, high gain, internally frequency compensated operational amplifiers designed to operate from a single power supply over a wide range of voltages. It can also operate from split power supplies with low power supply current drain independent of the power supply voltage magnitude. The input common-mode voltage range includes ground in linear mode, and the output voltage can swing to ground even with a single power supply voltage.
Applications include transducer amplifiers, dc gain blocks, and conventional op amp circuits easily implemented in single power supply systems. The LM358 series can be directly operated off the standard +5V power supply voltage used in digital systems, providing the required interface electronics without additional ±15V power supplies. It is also available in a chip-sized package (8-Bump micro SMD) using National’s micro SMD package technology.
The unity gain cross frequency is temperature compensated, and the input bias current is also temperature compensated.
