Based on the L298P, this motor driver shield can handle up to 2 amps per channel. It draws power from the same Vin line as the Arduino board and features blue and yellow LEDs to show the active direction. All driver lines are diode protected from back EMF. The latest version supports both 3.3V and 5V logic, a more robust VIN connection, and the PWM input has been relocated to pin 3. Motor control details: OUT1/2 - digital line 12 (direction A) and digital line 3 (PWM A), OUT3/4 - digital line 13 (direction B) and digital line 11 (PWM B).
