IR Receiver LED is a photodiode with a cathode and anode, similar to a normal LED. The cathode is the shorter lead, and the anode is the longer lead. It is always connected in negative polarity, with the anode connected to the ground and the cathode to the supply voltage. When light falls on the IR Receiver LED, it allows current to flow through it. The amount of current flow is directly proportional to the light falling on the IR Receiver LED. The Diameter of this IR Receiver LED is 3mm with a power dissipation (Pd) of 100mW.
