The FrSky X8R is a compact 8/16-channel receiver with Smart Port support, offering enhanced capabilities compared to its predecessors. It features Smart Port compatibility for hub-less and analog sensors, along with support for 8 standard servo outputs. By utilizing the Sbus line, users can access all 16 channels with Sbus supported servos or a FrSky S.BUS Decoder. Additionally, combining two X8R receivers allows synchronization of channels 1-8 on the first receiver and 9-16 on the second.
The X8 protocol is backward compatible, functioning in D8 mode with various transmitter modules like DHT, DJT, DFT, and DHT-U. While limited to 8 channels in this mode, users can still benefit from the Smart Port and digital sensors. The receiver boasts a new antenna design PCB, providing up to a 20% increase in range compared to older models. Furthermore, the X8R is firmware upgradeable, ensuring longevity and adaptability.
