This project utilizes a bright infrared (IR) LED and a phototransistor to detect the pulse of the finger. A red LED flashes with each pulse. The pulse monitor detects the flux emitted when the blood pressure pulse passes through the finger, resulting in a slight change in the phototransistor's resistance. The module is equipped with a very high resistance resistor R1 to ensure the phototransistor's sensitivity is sufficient. The resistance can be adjusted through experimentation to achieve the best results, with a focus on preventing stray light from entering the phototransistor. This is crucial for accurate readings, especially in environments with fluctuating lighting conditions such as home settings which are primarily based on 50HZ or 60HZ frequency.
