- Measures, filters, rectifies, and amplifies muscle activity
- Produces an analog output signal for easy microcontroller reading
- Enables muscle-controlled interfaces for projects
By detecting the electromyogram (EMG), measuring muscle activity has traditionally been used in medical research. With the advancement of microcontrollers and integrated circuits, EMG sensors can now be utilized in various control systems.
This Muscle Sensor v3.0 is designed to measure, filter, rectify, and amplify the electrical activity of a muscle, providing an analog output signal that can be easily interpreted by a microcontroller. This enables the creation of innovative muscle-controlled interfaces for your projects.
Wiring Instructions:
To use this sensor effectively, three electrodes must be connected to the subject's body. The reference electrode should be placed on an inactive body section, such as the bony portion of the elbow, shin, or forearm, and connected to the black or brown cable. The other two electrodes should be placed along the selected muscle, with the second electrode at the mid-length of the muscle (connected to the red cable) and the last electrode at the end of the muscle (connected to the blue cable). Finally, connect the pin SIG to an analog input pin on your microcontroller and the GND pin to the ground pin.
Package Includes:
