The DRV8833 is a dual H-bridge motor driver IC designed for bidirectional control of two brushed DC motors within the voltage range of 2.7V to 10.8V. It can deliver up to 1.2 A per channel continuously and handle peak currents of up to 2 A per channel for short durations, making it suitable for small motors operating at lower voltages.
Featuring SMD components including the DRV8833 and an added FET for reverse battery protection, this driver offers a higher peak current rating compared to similar options, with optional built-in current-limiting functionality and no external logic voltage requirement.
The DRV8833 module comes with 12 pin headers and can be used to drive two DC motors or a single bipolar stepper motor. The motor outputs can be paralleled to provide higher current outputs, with inputs compatible with both 3V and 5V systems. Additionally, the driver includes under-voltage lockout, over-current protection, over-temperature protection, and the ability to enable current limiting by incorporating sense resistors (not included).
- Package Includes: 1 x DRV8833 2 Channel DC Motor Driver Module, 12 x Pin Headers
