The CNY17-2 Phototransistor IC is an optically coupled pair consisting of a gallium arsenide infrared emitting diode optically coupled to a silicon NPN phototransistor. This device can transmit signal information, including a DC level, while providing high electrical isolation between input and output. Suitable for various digital interface and analog applications, it can replace relays and transformers effectively.
Used in applications such as power supply regulators, digital logic inputs, microprocessor inputs, appliance sensor systems, and industrial controls. The CNY17-2 IC is also available in a white package.
