The CH340 is a series of USB bus adapters that offer serial, parallel, or IrDA interfaces over the USB bus. The CH340G variant specifically supports the serial interface. It integrates common MODEM signals to enable adding a UART to a computer or converting existing UART devices to a USB interface.
It supports a baud rate range from 50bps to 2Mbps and common flow control signals like RTS, DTR, DCD, RI, DSR, and CTS. The CH340 uses the CH341 driver and supports RS232, RS422, and RS485 with external level shifting components. It operates at both 5V and 3.3V and comes in a RoHS-compliant narrow body SO-16 package.
