- High Degree of Linearity: <0.5% Distortion
- Extremely Low Off-State Switch Leakage
The CD4066 device is a quad bilateral switch designed for analog or digital signal multiplexing. It is a pin-for-pin replacement for the CD4016 device but offers lower on-state resistance. Each switch within the CD4066 has independent controls for both the p and n devices, allowing simultaneous biasing on or off by the control signal.
Advantages of the CD4066 include consistent on-state resistance over the full signal-input range, peak input-signal voltage swings equal to the full supply voltage, and a more constant on-state impedance over the input-signal range. However, for sample-and-hold applications, the CD4016 device is recommended.
The CD4066 is tested for quiescent current at various parametric ratings, ensuring reliable performance across different voltage levels. With a high control input impedance and low crosstalk between switches, the CD4066 is a versatile choice for various applications.
