The CA3140 BiMOS operational amplifier features gate-protected MOSFET transistors in the input circuit, providing high input impedance, low input current, and high-speed performance. It operates at supply voltages from 4V to 36V (single or dual supply).
Internally phase compensated for stable unity gain follower operation, it also allows for additional frequency roll-off using an external capacitor. Terminals for input offset voltage nulling are provided for specific applications.
The input stage's PMOS field-effect transistors enable a common mode input voltage capability down to 0.5V below the negative supply terminal—ideal for single-supply setups. The output stage, utilizing bipolar transistors, includes built-in protection against load terminal short circuits to supply rails or ground.
