The APM 2.8 Multicopter Flight Controller is an upgraded version of 2.5 and 2.6, designed for FPV RC Drones. It shares the same sensors as the APM 2.6 but offers the flexibility of using an external compass via a jumper. This feature makes it perfect for multi-copters and rovers. The APM 2.8 is a complete open-source autopilot system that has been widely used in various autonomous vehicles, including multirotors, cars, and boats.
The ground control software provides a user-friendly interface for configuring and controlling the Ardupilot board. It supports point-and-click waypoint entry, mission command selection, mission log analysis, APM settings configuration, and PC flight simulator integration for UAV simulation.
