The 74LS13 contains logic gates/inverters that accept standard TTL input signals and provide standard TTL output levels. They use a Schmitt trigger, a Darlington level shifter, and a phase splitter to drive a TTL totem pole output. These components work together to enhance signal quality and noise immunity.
The Schmitt trigger within each circuit utilizes positive feedback to speed up input transitions and provide different threshold voltages for positive and negative transitions. This results in a hysteresis of approximately 800 mV between the two thresholds, which remains stable across temperature and supply voltage variations.
