The 74HC540 is identical in pinout to the LS540, featuring inputs compatible with Standard CMOS outputs and external pull-up resistors for LSTTL compatibility. It is designed for use with 3-state memory address drivers, clock drivers, and bus-oriented systems, with inputs and outputs positioned on opposite sides of the package and two ANDed active-low output enables.
