The 74HC221 is a 16 Pin Hex D-type Flip-Flop with Reset IC that operates in the voltage range of 2V to 6V. It features 5.2mA output current and a low input current of 1uA. Utilizing advanced silicon-gate CMOS technology, this IC offers speeds comparable to low power Schottky TTL circuitry while maintaining the low power and high noise immunity characteristics of CMOS circuits.
Each multivibrator in the 74HC221 has a negative (A) and a positive (B) transition-triggered input, both of which can be used as inhibit inputs. Additionally, it includes a clear input that resets the one-shot when taken low. The 74HC221 can be triggered on the positive transition of the clear while A is held LOW and B is held HIGH.
