Ferrite magnets, also known as Ceramic Magnets, are low cost and corrosion-free. They are ideal for applications in various industries such as automotive, aerospace, and electronics. Ferrite magnets are ferrimagnetic in performance and are commonly used in motors, generators, loudspeakers, and marine designs.
There are 27 grades of Ferrite Magnets available, with C5 and C8 being the main grades used today. C5 is a general choice for applications like over band magnets, while C8 is preferred for loudspeakers and motors due to its higher coercivity.
Soft ferrites used in transformers are different from Ferrite magnets, as the latter are permanent magnets that retain their magnetism. Ferrite magnets can withstand temperatures up to +250 degrees C.
Isotropic sintered ferrite permanent magnetic materials have weak magnetic properties but can be magnetized in different directions. Anisotropic sintered ferrite permanent magnetic materials have strong magnetic properties but can only be magnetized in a predetermined direction.
