This 16mm roll-wrapped carbon fibre tube is crafted using high modulus (T700) unidirectional prepreg carbon fibre, providing exceptional strength in the lateral axis. The roll-wrapped construction enhances overall strength, making it a superior choice over pultruded tubes with fibers running in a single direction.
While the tube excels in strength along its length, it may not be as robust across its diameter, making it important to avoid excessive crushing forces. The roll-wrapping process involves laying up prepreg carbon fibre around a mandrel in layers and spiral-wrapping it with heat-shrink tape before oven curing.
