Nowadays, Li-ion batteries are the most popular choice for indoor and outdoor gadgets due to their high charge storage capacity. These batteries are compact, efficient, and have a high energy intensity compared to other types of batteries. However, one drawback is the need for continuous monitoring of the charging and discharging process to maintain battery life and charge storing capacity.
This Li-ion single-cell charger/protection circuit is designed to address these issues. It can charge a single cell of 15 Amp capacity or 2500mAh parallel-connected 5 to 6 Li-ion cells. The circuit utilizes MOSFET for monitoring tasks, providing protection against overcharge, over-discharge, and short circuits.
Wiring Instructions:
- B+: Battery positive
- B-: Battery negative
- P+: Outputs positive input for the battery pack
- P-: Outputs negative electrode for the battery pack
