Ferrite Magnets, also known as Ceramic Magnets, are low cost and corrosion-free. They are widely used in various industries such as automotive, aerospace, and electronics. Ferrite magnets are ferrimagnetic and popular in motor, generator, and loudspeaker designs.
There are 27 grades of Ferrite Magnets available, with C5 and C8 being the main grades used today. C5 is a general choice for applications like over band magnets, while C8 is preferred for loudspeakers and motors.
Soft ferrites used in transformers are different from Ferrite Magnets, as they do not retain magnetism. Ferrite Magnets, on the other hand, are permanent magnets and retain their magnetism.
Isotropic sintered ferrite permanent magnetic materials have weak magnetic properties but can be magnetized in different directions. Anisotropic sintered ferrite permanent magnetic materials have strong magnetic properties but can only be magnetized in a predetermined direction.
