The Winsen MQ-7B Carbon Monoxide Sensor features a silicon microchip housed in a plastic shell. This sensor utilizes a small detection chamber with a CO sensor to accurately measure CO concentration in the atmosphere. The MQ-7B sensor is equipped with SnO2 sensitive material, which has lower conductivity in clean air. It operates by cycling between high and low temperatures to detect CO at low temperature (heated by 1.5V).
As the CO gas concentration increases, the sensor's conductivity also rises. At high temperatures (heated by 5.0V), the sensor effectively cleans other gases adsorbed at low temperatures. Users can easily convert the change in conductivity to an output signal corresponding to the gas concentration using a simple circuit.
Common applications for the Winsen MQ-7B Carbon Monoxide Sensor include domestic CO gas leakage alarms, industrial CO gas alarms, and portable CO gas detectors.
