The second generation TOP Switch™-II family by Power Integration is a more cost-effective and enhanced solution over its predecessor. Extending the power range and including significant circuit enhancements, this PWM switch is suitable for various applications like TV, Monitor, and Audio amplifiers. The internal lead frame in the standard 8L PDIP package reduces costs and offers high efficiency.
TOP Switch-II incorporates all necessary functions into a three-terminal monolithic IC including power MOSFET, PWM controller, high voltage start-up circuit, loop compensation, and fault protection. The design is stable and works with primary or opto feedback. It is also efficient in both discontinuous and continuous conduction modes.
The source connected tab ensures low EMI, and the circuit simplicity along with Design Tools reduces time to market.
