The TLC5940 is a 16-channel, constant-current sink LED driver with adjustable grayscale PWM brightness control and dot correction. It offers a drive capability of 0 mA to 60 mA for VCC less than 3.6 V and 0 mA to 120 mA for VCC greater than 3.6 V. The LED power supply voltage can go up to 17 V with VCC ranging from 3 V to 5.5 V.
Equipped with LED open detection (LOD) and thermal error flag (TEF) circuits, the TLC5940 can detect broken or disconnected LEDs and overtemperature conditions. The dot correction feature helps adjust brightness variations between LED channels and other drivers, enhancing overall performance.
With a 30 MHz data transfer rate and controlled in-rush current, this LED driver provides efficient operation. It also includes error information circuits for added safety and reliability.
