The TEC1-12715 Thermoelectric Cooler 15A Peltier Module is a semiconductor-based electronic component that functions as a small heat pump. By applying the DC power source to a TEC, heat will be transferred from one side of the module to the other, creating a cold and hot side. It is widely used in industrial areas such as computer CPUs, CCDs, portable refrigerators, and medical instruments.
Thermoelectric coolers, also known as TEC or Peltier modules, create a temperature differential on each side. One side gets hot, and the other side gets cool, allowing you to either warm something up or cool something down. You can also generate electricity using the temperature differential.
For optimal performance, it is essential to remove heat from the hot side by using a heat sink or another cooling device. Failure to do so may result in the Peltier reaching stasis and becoming ineffective. The module operates efficiently when heat is effectively removed from the hot side.
