This TCRT5000 Single Channel Line Tracking Sensor Module is a carrier board for the TCRT5000 reflective optical sensor. It is primarily designed for line-following robots but can also be used in mini-sumo robots for line control. The board features a digital output and includes a potentiometer for adjusting the sensitivity of the individual sensors.
The working principle of the line follower sensor is based on the behavior of light on black and white surfaces. When light falls on a white surface, it is mostly reflected, while on a black surface, it is absorbed. This behavior is utilized in the construction of the line follower sensor. Each phototransistor is connected to a pull-up resistor to create a voltage divider that generates an analog voltage output ranging from 0V to VIN (typically 5V) based on the reflected IR. A lower output voltage indicates higher reflection.
The module has exquisite workmanship and includes an indicator for easy usage. It also features a fixed bolt hole for convenient installation.
