The SoftPot membrane potentiometer is a resistive element, comprising a conductive resistor, sealed encasement, and wiper assembly. It functions as a voltage divider, with a three-wire system and two resistive output channels. By pressing a wiper onto the top circuit, the desired electrical output is produced. The wiper, a non-conductive mechanism, depresses the top circuit to actuate the potentiometer. The top and bottom circuits are separated by 0.15mm of spacer adhesive build-up, with contact occurring by pressure from the wiper. The wiper design can adapt to various applications using materials like plastics, metals, sliders, rollers, or wheels. Additionally, the SoftPot can be manually actuated by hand.
