The SoftPot membrane potentiometer consists of a conductive resistor, sealed encasement, and wiper assembly. It can function as a voltage divider, with a wiper mechanism that depresses the top circuit to produce the desired electrical output. The top and bottom circuits are separated by 0.15mm of spacer adhesive build-up, creating a potentiometric output when connected.
The wiper design of the SoftPot is versatile, allowing for adaptation to various applications using materials like plastics, metals, sliders, rollers, or wheels. Manual actuation is also possible with this potentiometer.
