This digital soil moisture sensor is designed to measure the moisture or water level content in the soil. It provides a digital output of 5V when the moisture level is high and 0V when the moisture level is low. The sensor features a potentiometer to set the desired moisture threshold. An LED indicator shows the output status based on the moisture level.
The sensor offers both digital and analog outputs. The digital output can be connected to a microcontroller for moisture level sensing. The analog output can be connected to the ADC of a microcontroller to get precise moisture level readings in the soil. It is ideal for water gardening projects, water sensing applications, and more.
Connections:
- VCC: Connect to 3.3V-5V
- GND: Connect to GND
- DO: Digital value output connector (0 or 1)
- AO: Analog value output connector
Usage:
- Most sensitive to ambient moisture, used for detecting soil moisture content
- DO port outputs high when moisture is below threshold, low when above
- Digital output can be directly connected to MCU for moisture detection
- Can drive buzzer or relay modules for soil moisture alarm systems
- Analog output can be connected to ADC for precise moisture values
