The Grove IR Distance Interrupter v1.2 is equipped with a high-sensitivity ITR9909 photo-reflector, consisting of a GaAs infrared light-emitting diode and a silicon planar phototransistor. It detects objects in front of the sensor and outputs logical HIGH or LOW based on the distance from the reflection surface. By adjusting the potentiometer, you can set the detection threshold between 90mm to 300mm on white paper. An indicator LED lights up red when an object is detected and turns off when there is none.
