To supply the higher peak currents required by the new memory package, the power supply components on the board have been rearranged, resulting in improved power consumption and thermals.
The GPIO header remains the same, with 40 pins that are fully backwards-compatible with previous boards. However, it's important to note that the new PoE header pins may contact components on the underside of some HATs, like the Rainbow HAT, but using standoffs can prevent any issues.
