Internal counters in the MT8880 transceiver provide a burst mode that enables tone bursts to be transmitted with precise timing. The call progress filter can be selected to allow a microprocessor to analyze call progress tones. This transceiver features a standard microprocessor bus that is directly compatible with the 6800 series of microprocessors.
