Features:
- Digital airspeed sensor
- Rubber tubing
- Pitot tube
- Four-wire I2C cable
The Pixhawk Digital Airspeed Sensor, equipped with its own pitot tube, is designed for use with the Pixhawk PX4 autopilot system. It features a high-resolution, low-offset digital pressure sensor that provides extremely accurate airspeed readings. Unlike older analog airspeed systems, this sensor is not affected by noise from long cables or offsets from ratio-metric outputs.
The MS 4525DO sensor can measure speeds up to 100m/s (223mph/360kmh) with a resolution of 0.84Pa. Data is delivered at 14 bits from a 24-bit delta-sigma ADC. Additionally, it includes a built-in temperature sensor for calculating true airspeed using the MS5611 static pressure sensor on the Pixhawk PX4.
The Pixhawk Airspeed Sensor Kit includes the MS 4525DO sensor with a 1 psi measurement range, enabling precise airspeed measurements. It also measures temperature to calculate true airspeed accurately. This sensor is not affected by nearby heat sources, providing more reliable readings compared to analog sensor setups.
NOTE: This unit is only compatible with the fixed-wing code in the Pixhawk and is not required for multi-copters.
