The MOC8101 optocoupler is designed with a gallium arsenide infrared emitting diode optically coupled to a silicon planar phototransistor detector in a plastic plug-in DIP-6 package. It is suitable for signal transmission between two electrically separated circuits, with a maximum forward current of 60 mA and power dissipation of 100 mW.
The potential difference between the circuits to be coupled should not exceed the maximum permissible reference voltages. The base terminal of the MOC8101 is not connected, resulting in substantially improved common mode interference immunity.
The optocoupler is compliant to RoHS Directive 2002/95/EC and in accordance with WEEE 2002/96/EC regulations. It has a collector-emitter breakdown voltage of 30 V and operates within a storage temperature range of -55 to +150°C.
