LPG Click carries an MQ-5 sensor specifically designed for detecting liquefied petroleum gas leakage. The sensor unit features a gas sensing layer made of Tin dioxide (SnO2), which exhibits lower conductivity in clean air and increases as LPG levels rise. The sensor has a detection range of 200-10000 ppm of LPG.
To calibrate the sensor for your specific environment, LPG Click provides a small potentiometer that allows you to adjust the Load Resistance of the sensor circuit. For accurate calibration, the sensor requires preheating, taking approximately 24 hours to reach the optimal temperature. The communication with the target board is facilitated through the AN (OUT) mikroBUS line, and the sensor operates on a 5V power supply only.
