The MCP4821 devices are single-channel DACs available in 8-bit, 10-bit, and 12-bit options. They operate from a 2.7V to 5.5V supply and feature an SPI compatible interface. These DACs come with a high precision internal voltage reference of 2.048V, allowing the user to configure the full-scale range to be 2.048V or 4.096V through the Gain Selection Option bit.
Additionally, the devices can be operated in Active or Shutdown mode, with most internal circuits turned off in Shutdown mode for power savings. The MCP4821 includes double-buffered registers for a synchronous DAC output update and a Power-on Reset (POR) circuit for reliable power-up.
