The MB7388 from the HRXL-MaxSonar-WR line is a rugged ultrasonic sensor designed for outdoor use. It features a compact PVC housing meeting IP67 water intrusion standards and is compatible with standard electrical 3/4inch PVC pipe fittings. Factory calibrated for narrow sensor beam patterns, it offers reliable long-range detection.
The sensor reports the distance to the largest acoustic return, ignoring smaller targets. It prioritizes the closest target in the presence of similar amplitude reflections. If the largest target is removed, it switches to the next largest detectable return, making it ideal for outdoor tank and bin applications.
With high-output acoustic power, variable gain, automatic calibration, waveform analysis, and noise rejection algorithms, the MB7388 provides noise-free distance readings even in noisy environments.
