A convenient 4-wire serial interface allows easy connection to common microprocessors. The MAX7221 enables individual digit addressing and updating without affecting the entire display. Users can select between codeB decoding or no-decode for each digit. Additionally, the device features a low-power shutdown mode, brightness control, a scan limit register, and a test mode for all LEDs.
