The MAX7219 integrates a convenient four-wire serial interface that can be used with all microcontrollers and microprocessors. Each on-chip data can be addressed in the update without rewriting all displays, allowing for the selection of data encoding or no-coding. It is an integrated serial input/output common-cathode display driver that connects the microprocessor to an 8-bit 7-segment digital LED display, bar graph display, or 64 separate LEDs. The device includes a low-power shutdown mode, analog and digital brightness control, and a scan-limit register for displaying 1-8 bit data.
Wiring instructions: VCC to 5V, GND to GND, DIN to P00, CLK to P02, CS to P01
Note: This product is available in two different variants of IC (MAXIM MAX7219 and GC7219), and will be shipped randomly.
