Thermocouples are known for their wide temperature range and durability, but using them can be challenging due to cold junction compensation and voltage change detection. The MAX6675 Thermocouple Sensor Module simplifies this process by interfacing a K Thermocouple with your Arduino through an SPI interface. It offers a 12-bit resolution and accurate temperature measurement up to +1024C.
The module's pin-outs include SO (serial output), CS (Chip Select), SCK (Serial Clock input), VCC (5V supply), GND (Ground), and K thermocouple plus and minus inputs. It features internal cold junction compensation circuitry and can convert temperature signals into 12-bit digital format.
Most K thermocouples have a red lead for negative and a yellow lead for positive connections. The MAX6675 module comes with high impedance differential inputs and thermocouple break detection for added reliability.
