The LNK306PN is designed to replace all linear and capacitor-fed non-isolated power supplies under 360mA output range, offering higher performance and energy efficiency at equal cost. This monolithic IC integrates a 700V power MOSFET, oscillator, On/Off control, current source, frequency jittering, and thermal shutdown.
Operating power is derived from the DRAIN pin, eliminating the need for bias supply in buck or flyback converters. The integrated auto-restart circuit limits output power during fault conditions, reducing component count and protection cost. A local supply allows for enhanced regulation performance using a non-safety graded optocoupler acting as a level shifter.
