This LM2596 DC-DC buck converter step-down power module is designed to work with Freeduino UNO, other mainboards, and basic modules. It is recommended to add a heat sink when the output current exceeds 2.5A or output power is greater than 10W.
Operating at a switching frequency of 150 kHz, this module allows the use of smaller sized filter components compared to lower frequency regulators. The LM2596 series offers fixed output voltages of 3.3V, 5V, 12V, and an adjustable version.
