The L4970A is a step down monolithic power switching regulator that delivers 10A with a voltage variable from 5.1 to 40V. It uses BCD mixed technology and a DMOS output transistor for high efficiency and fast switching times. Features include reset and power fail functions, feed-forward line regulation, soft start, current limiting, and thermal protection. The device is mounted in a 15-lead multi watt plastic power package, requiring few external components. It operates efficiently at switching frequencies up to 500KHz, reducing the size and cost of external filter components.
