The IR Sensor module has great adaptive capability of the ambient light. It consists of a pair of infrared transmitter and receiver tubes. The infrared emitting tube emits a certain frequency which, when encountering an obstacle, reflects back to the receiver tube. After processing by a comparator circuit, the green LED lights up, and a digital signal is output. The detection range can be adjusted using the potentiometer knob within the effective range of 2 ~ 10cm.
When obstacles are detected, the green indicator light on the circuit board illuminates, and the OUT port continuously outputs low-level signals. The detection angle is 35°, and the detection distance can be adjusted by turning the potentiometer clockwise or counterclockwise.
The sensor module uses active infrared reflection detection, where the target's reflectivity and shape determine the detection distance. The module's output port OUT can be connected directly to a microcontroller IO port or a 5V relay. The module is powered by a 3-5V DC power supply, and a red power LED indicates when the power is on.
With screw holes of 3mm, the module is easy to install. Each module comes with a threshold comparator voltage adjustable via a potentiometer. Please avoid adjusting the potentiometer under special circumstances.
Interface (3-wire):
